Roma ha celebrato ieri un traguardo speciale: i dieci anni di Women for Women against Violence – Camomilla Award, l’evento che unisce due battaglie cruciali per la vita delle donne, la lotta contro la violenza di genere e quella contro il tumore al seno. Lo spazio di Spazio 900 si è trasformato in un palcoscenico di memoria, arte e speranza, ospitando il 10 Years Celebration Gala.
Al centro dell’iniziativa, fortemente voluta da Donatella Gimigliano, Presidente del Consorzio Umanitas, c’è l’idea che il dolore possa diventare forza e che la cultura e lo spettacolo possano farsi strumenti di consapevolezza collettiva. «Il Gala del decennale non è solo un anniversario – ha dichiarato – ma la conferma che insieme possiamo trasformare le esperienze individuali in aiuto reciproco e in messaggi di speranza».
La serata, condotta da Arianna Ciampoli e Beppe Convertini con la regia di Antonio Centomani, si è aperta con l’intensa performance di Joia B., che ha emozionato il pubblico con Un tempo per volare, brano ispirato alla sua esperienza personale contro il tumore al seno. Tra i momenti più significativi anche il video celebrativo dei dieci anni di attività e la mostra fotografica promossa dal Consorzio Umanitas, capace di raccontare con immagini potenti il percorso di resilienza e coraggio di centinaia di donne.
Fulcro dell’evento sono stati i Camomilla Cinema & Music Awards, istituiti nel 2024 per rendere omaggio ad artisti e autori che hanno scelto di usare il loro talento per diffondere consapevolezza. La camomilla, simbolo della rassegna, diventa metafora di cura silenziosa e forza rigeneratrice. Quest’anno i premi, firmati dal maestro orafo Michele Affidato, hanno celebrato artisti come Joia B. e Giovanni Segreti Bruno per la musica e figure di riferimento come Barbara De Rossi e Rolando Ravello per il cinema. Premi speciali sono andati anche a Carolyn Smith e ad Antonietta Tuccillo, testimonianze di resilienza che hanno trasformato la malattia in messaggi di speranza e creatività.
Il Gala è stato arricchito da momenti di leggerezza e musica, dalle esibizioni dei Gemelli di Guidonia fino al finale intenso firmato da Antonio Maggio, che ha regalato al pubblico un brano scritto con Ermal Meta e interpretato insieme a Gessica Notaro. La platea ha accolto anche testimoni simbolo della lotta alla violenza e alla malattia come Filomena Lamberti, Nicolò Maja e altri protagonisti della mostra fotografica.
L’accoglienza è stata accompagnata da un menù solidale firmato da chef di rilievo come Bruno Brunori, Giuseppe Di Bella, Marie Micoli e Vitalia Scano, sostenuti dall’Associazione Cuochi di Roma e da Lady Chef, in un viaggio gastronomico che ha unito eccellenza culinaria e spirito benefico.
Numerosi gli ospiti dal mondo della cultura, dello spettacolo e delle istituzioni, tra cui Rosanna Banfi, Emma D’Aquino, Alessandra Viero, Carolina Marconi e rappresentanti delle istituzioni come Martina Semenzato e Svetlana Celli. Anche la Rai ha partecipato con figure di spicco del suo panorama dirigenziale e culturale.
Il Gala del decennale ha ribadito la forza di un progetto che continua a crescere, trasformando il dolore in consapevolezza e la sofferenza in occasione di rinascita collettiva. Un impegno che non si esaurisce in una serata ma che prosegue come promessa concreta di speranza e solidarietà.
Rome yesterday celebrated a special milestone: the ten years of Women for Women against Violence – Camomilla Award, the event that brings together two crucial battles in women’s lives, the fight against gender violence and the fight against breast cancer. The venue of Spazio 900 was transformed into a stage of memory, art, and hope, hosting the 10 Years Celebration Gala.
At the heart of the initiative, strongly promoted by Donatella Gimigliano, President of Consorzio Umanitas, lies the idea that pain can be turned into strength and that culture and entertainment can become tools of collective awareness. “The anniversary Gala is not just a celebration,” she said, “but the confirmation that together we can transform individual experiences into mutual support and messages of hope.”
The evening, hosted by Arianna Ciampoli and Beppe Convertini with direction by Antonio Centomani, opened with the heartfelt performance of Joia B., who moved the audience with Un tempo per volare, a song inspired by her personal fight against breast cancer. Other key moments included the celebratory video 10 Years of Impact and a photographic exhibition promoted by Consorzio Umanitas, powerful images that recounted the resilience and courage of hundreds of women.
The core of the event was the Camomilla Cinema & Music Awards, established in 2024 to honor artists and authors who choose to use their talent to raise awareness. The chamomile flower, symbol of the initiative, becomes a metaphor for silent care and regenerative strength. This year’s prizes, designed by master goldsmith Michele Affidato, celebrated artists such as Joia B. and Giovanni Segreti Bruno for music, and key figures such as Barbara De Rossi and Rolando Ravello for cinema. Special awards were also given to Carolyn Smith and Antonietta Tuccillo, examples of resilience who turned their battles with illness into messages of hope and creativity.
The Gala was enriched by moments of lightness and music, from the comic harmonies of the Gemelli di Guidonia to the moving finale by Antonio Maggio, who performed La faccia e il cuore, written with Ermal Meta and sung with Gessica Notaro. The audience also welcomed symbolic witnesses of the fight against violence and illness such as Filomena Lamberti, Nicolò Maja, and other protagonists of the photographic exhibition.
The reception was accompanied by a solidarity menu created by renowned chefs Bruno Brunori, Giuseppe Di Bella, Marie Micoli, and Vitalia Scano, supported by the Associazione Cuochi di Roma and Lady Chef, offering a gastronomic journey that combined Italian excellence with a spirit of generosity.
Many guests from the world of culture, entertainment, and institutions attended, including Rosanna Banfi, Emma D’Aquino, Alessandra Viero, Carolina Marconi, and institutional representatives such as Martina Semenzato and Svetlana Celli. RAI also took part with key figures from its cultural and managerial ranks.
