Some people visit Rome. Jennifer Lopez performs it.
For three days, the Eternal City has been the set of her most private vacation of the year. No red carpet, no concert — just her, her 18-year-old twins Emme and Max Muñiz, and a textbook Roman Holiday itinerary.
On Monday, July 27, J.Lo was photographed at the Colosseum in her unofficial summer mom uniform — a sleeveless white mini dress with green trim, silk headscarf tied à la Grace Kelly, oversized sunglasses and a woven straw tote. The same look, already viral, was spotted the next day between Via Condotti and the Spanish Steps, with a shopping stop at Brunello Cucinelli.
The most Roman moment? The gelato break. Videos show her queuing at Romeo Gelato Italiano, cup in hand, laughing with her kids on the cobblestones of the historic center.
Then, the VIP part. On Wednesday, a private tour of the Vatican Museums with an official guide, who posted a photo with her in a cream lace slip dress calling it “a privilege to guide her.”
Why is this visit making headlines? Beyond the fashion, there’s a story. After years of tours, movies and highly publicized divorces, US media is calling this the last summer as a single mom before the twins — whom she raised with ex-husband Marc Anthony — leave for university. Hence her being in full “mom mode,” as InStyle described it.
No screaming bodyguards, just an American tourist with her kids getting gelato and taking pictures at the Colosseum. Except the tourist is J.Lo.
She closed the stay with a simple “Ti Amo” to Italy on her stories.
